The Center of Illumination
''For who in this most beautiful of temples would put this lamp in any other or better place than the one from which it can illuminate everything at the same time? Aptly indeed is he named by some the lantern of the universe, by others the mind by others the ruler. Trismegistus called him the visible God, the watcher over all things. Thus indeed the Sun as if seated on a royal throne governs his household of Stars as they circle arround him’’.
-Nicolaus Copernicus, Revolution of the Heaventy Spheres, 1543
Throughout history, the Sun has remained a powerful and universal symbol, representing life, energy and spirituality. Its presence in various cultures and belief systems conveys its enduring significance as a an emblem of hope, renewal and divinity. The Sun, at the center of our collection, symbolizes the soul's essence. Its light is all Knowing, our self expression at its most authentic and enlightened. In life, the sun acts to orient us. It offers generosity, expansion and enthusiasm in abundance.
The Sun's trajectory through the sky and the four seasons, often depicted in art as the sun, cross or solar wheel, mirrors the human life cycle from youth, to maturity, to middle-age and finally through to old age. Its energy changes alongside the seasons of life and flows in similar motion through the universe. Gold, its alchemical symbol, the most sacred and valued of metals, was believed to be the spirit of the Sun manifest on Earth congealed light. The Suns in this collection have been designed and crafted in order to give the bearer strength and power for the year to come. May they always shine like a Sun!
''If the attractive virtue of the Moon extends as far as the earth, it follows with greater reason that the attractive virtue of the earth extends as far as the Moon and much farther; and, in short, nothing which consists of earthly substance anyhow constituted although thrown up to any height, can ever escape the powerful operation of this atractive virtue’’.
-Johannes Kepler, Astronomia
The Moon reflects the soul. It represents the inner world, including our emotional nature, our subconscious, our dreams, intuitions and instinctual actions. The Moon is evoked in many cultures as a metaphor for the evolution of life from maiden (waxing), mother (full), to crone (waning). An archetype, pagan tradition revered as the "triple goddess" or Hecate, the moon is connected to dreams, the underworld, memory, mothering, nurturing and fertility. The Moons in our collection are designed to enhance intuition and guidance. May they bring you protection and the needed rhythm in life
